Parts of the south are under the gun for severe weather tomorrow. The SPC ( Storm Prediction Center) has placed an area from Eastern Texas into Western Louisiana into the Moderate category for severe weather tomorrow.   Some cities included in the Moderate Category are Houston and Galveston TX and Lake Charles Louisiana.

Storms are expected to develop across Texas Sunday morning and afternoon and cross into Western and Central Louisiana into Sunday evening. Some of these storms are expected to become severe. The air mass will be very unstable with dew points in the upper 60’s and low 70’s. Storms will develop the Waco and Austin areas earlier. At that time the chance for severe weather will not be as great so these areas are just in the Enhanced category.  As these storms move east they will become better organized and the tornado and wind threat will be greatly enhanced.  The supercells may come together to form a MCS( Mesoscale Convective System) which would pose a straight-line wind threat.

By Sunday evening into the overnight hours the storms will be moving into Louisiana. Strong winds and tornadoes will still be an issue overnight into early Monday morning for areas around Lafayette and Alexandria Louisiana.

Anyone in these areas needs to make sure you are weather aware for rapidly changing conditions. Stay tuned to NeoWeather US for further updates on this potential Severe Weather Outbreak across the deep South Sunday.
