The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO WATCH for much of Oklahoma and parts of Northern Texas until 11 PM CDT.


Latest Watches as of 4:15 pm CDT Sunday, March 26, 2017.


Conditions across the watch area are becoming favorable to supercellular thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes,  hail to 3″ in diameter,  and damaging wind gusts in excess of 70 MPH.  It is possible that a few tornadoes could become intense as the late afternoon and evening progress.  Storms have not yet initiated across the watch area but are expected to do so within the next couple of hours.  Eventually the storms will begin to transition to a more wind damage threat after 9 pm CDT.

These storms will develop and intensify quickly and begin to quickly move eastward.  If you are in the watch area,  stay tuned to local media outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for updates on rapidly changing weather conditions.  Also,  be prepared to seek shelter quickly if a warning is issued for your area.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Parts of Kansas

Additionally, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for much of South Central and Southeastern Kansas until 11 pm CDT.  Damaging winds in excess of 70 MPH and large hail in excess of 2″ in diameter are possible as storms move through the region this evening.  Expect additional storms to develop across this area within the next few hours.
