Cooler temperatures and snow showers are on the way after a short reprieve from winter across the state. Scattered snow showers will be most prevalent along the lakeshore in western lower, as well as, the Upper Peninsula. However, snow showers will move inland from time to time impacting the remainder of the state.

Friday Night Temperatures

Friday will feature scattered snow showers around the state but due to the dynamics in place for this timeframe accumulations will be light. Highs on Friday will be cooler than the past few days with temperatures remaining below the freezing mark.

Saturday Snow Showers

A cold front will move across the state during the day on Saturday which will lead to an increase in snow shower coverage and intensity. Widespread snow showers are anticipated across the state during the course of the day. Accumulations of 2-4″ are expected in the favored NW flow belts. Lighter accumulations of 1-2″ expected inland.

A stronger impulse of energy will drop in from the northwest for the day on Sunday. This piece of energy will give way to more widespread snow showers across the state. A general 2-3″ of snowfall is anticipated for the Lower and Upper Peninsula. Colder temperatures on Sunday combined with windy conditions, at times, will lead to slick road conditions as this system swings through the state.
